Hi folks,

The first and last place anyone need ever look again for titles on the early medieval period in Ireland is the website of the Early Medieval Archaeology Project - www.emap.ie

Here's the link to the downloadable bibliography that's been put together so far; over 4,500 titles in total, probably enough to keep even the most enthusiastic researcher busy for a while. The bibliography is also done thematically which makes life a lot easier so issues such as clothing, burial, settlement, trade etc can be easily perused.

http://www.ucd.ie/t4cms/emap_report_2_2_complepeted.pdf

The other reports generated by the project so far are also available on the site as pdfs are a fantastic resource, particularly for anyone doing research on the period.

John, maybe we should stick up a separate thread on EMAP within the early me section/has someone done so already?

Anyway, enjoy!

Oh, and see if you recognise the posterboy on the homepage :)

No worries!

And spread the word - the whole point of the project is to further knowledge about the period and particularly to get it out to a wider audience. The more people using the emap website the better!

Dammit dammit dammit.

That photo will haunt me forever.
First it showed up on the wall in UCD Archaeology School, fine, whatever.
Then on the front cover of a friggin book.
Now the title page on the website.

Still, I stand by my choice of pink dress. To hell with you all.

Billy.
