Early Medieval Archaeology Project

Hi folks,

A new(ish) project has been taking place at the School of Archaeology, UCD over the last year entitled the Early Medieval Archaeology Project (EMAP). The aim of EMAP is to collate and analyse all evidence for early medieval archaeology that has come to light between 1970-2002.

The 1st EMAP report was published in January and is now available at the school of Archaeology website as a PDF. The information here is staggering, especially the numbers and varieties of site types that have been excavated over the last 30 odd years. The PDF can be found at
