Bow shooting in/near Dublin

Hey guys!

I am new to the forum and so will introduce myself briefly. My name is Jan and I come from Czech Republic where I am a member of a viking era living history group called Skjaldborg. The subject of my interest is bows, fletching and shooting and that is why I created this thread.

I would like to ask you if there is any group of people somewhere in or near Dublin who do regulary shoot? Of course a group of people who would allow me to shoot with them If there is no such group, is there at least a place where could one train shooting?

I have been trying to find a place since I moved to Dublin last July but to no avail. I haven't been shooting since then and that's ... sad.

I have 85 lbs cornus and 100 lbs ash long bows (these bows are actually not a part of my viking LH hobby).

If anybody could help me find a place where I could start shooting I would be very grateful!

Official opening this Saturday 22nd Jan, I believe there are training grounds and a shop on site.

If it is regular practice you are looking for then it might be a good idea to hook up with a 'normal' archery club.

I know of at least one person who shoots regularly 'Bare bow' with an archery club based in Bray/Greystones...Friday evenings I think. I dont have any more details, but I am sure that you will find them on the interweb.

i myself make bows as well as arrows and have been shooting for years if you need any advice on where to go or even want to shoot with us im sure something could be arranged members of our group shoot on a regular basis space is often set aside and some are there as only archers and we would love more if your open to it we are also mainly a viking period group. also someone shooting warbow weights as a fellow archer great news hope to talk soon. i also know the person in bray and have shot in various archery clubs around the east coast and can point you where to go if you need it.
also i myself live in wicklow town and have a spot down here where i do field archery as i know target archery gets boring after a while.
also to join any IAAA club such as woodbrook archery in bray site is here you will need to pass their safety beginner course then join after. its a great club though only two longbow archers but the best barebow shooters in the country are there many of whom im good mates with.
