hi all
i want to know everything there is to know about making arrows from the viking period. i know they are different from later medieval ones so can anyone help me with this? i know a bit on them but want to be fully sure
i mean everything materials methods of doing it everything

I know I am a little late but have only just found the web-site if you have not yet sorted your arrows tell me what exact you need to know will sort it out for you.

good stuff an arrow maker on my post :D
well two questions off the top of my head nut there are a few
what glue would be used? and how were sockted arrows fixed in place?
i have others but i think those will do.
good to see you on the forum might pm you about bows as well sometime :D

You can also just ram them into the socket, same as a spear, without the rivet. Arrows may also have been glued in place; I think Todd sells glue made from rabbit sinew for gluing feathers to shafts.
