This was the largest Roman military event in Britannia in almost 2000 years! 168 Romans – two Century’s - from Legio XX VV, Legio VIII MGV, Legio II AVG, Legio XIIII GMV, Legio VI, Legio I, Cohors V Praetoria and many more! An incredible Roman event all thanks to Paul Harston!

On Sunday I was given the very great privilege of being the Centurion to lead the parade through Deva (Chester) under the command of Primus Pilus Fatalis and here are a couple of Youtube clips of the day.

Looks very impressive! The scale of things is a good indication of people's commitment to live Roman era interpretation in Britain and beyond - well done to all involved!

Thanks Dave, it was a very impressive event alright. The only UK Roman group not represented were the Ermine Street Guard but hopefully that will change next year.
